All proceeds from this event will directly support our Mother Child Read Aloud Program.
Four E Fry volunteers rent a van, load it with children’s books and recorders drive to the federal correctional facility, Nova Institution for Women, in Truro, NS for a two-day trip 3 times a year. Mothers (and grandmothers) in Nova are invited to read 3 age-relevant books to each of their children. Recordings of the readings and books are mailed to the caregivers of each child. We ask for your help to support criminalized women gain hope for positive possibilities for closer connections with their children and support children to feel comfort and love by their mothers though mothers are incarcerated.
We are extending an invitation to contribute, if you wish, a favorite child’s book to our Nova collection. Books will be received at the door. Thank you!
